Member Machines and Gossip

(Thanks to Dick for much of the input)

Neil Morrell is working on his 1972 3 door Suburban in his "spare time" at Fall Branch Auto Parts.

Mike Smith is the proud owner of a 1966 Chevrolet panel, no firm plans, at this time, but it is for sale.

Don Hughes is still waiting to get his '39 Chevrolet sedan into the glass shop for windows. We all know how frustrating it is to be waiting to get one into the shop, but it is not as bad as having it in the shop and months later wishing we had it back.

Sid Vicars is struggling with a leaky Chinese carburetor on Kathy's Chevy II. Rumor is Sid has enrolled in an on line language course to learn how to say " #/<@>\#%!!#?!! and that goes for your horse too" in Chinese.

Bruce Roberts is still looking for the cause of valvetrain problems in his Hemi.

Sid, Bruce and Perry made another trip to Spraker in Mooresville to get Bruce and Perry's noisy rear ends checked. Bruce's was OK, Perry's needed a major rebuild.

I (Dick) waited until the Gray Swap Meet so I could buy parts for my '61 directly from the vendor without having to pay shipping. Turns out they didn't have the needed parts on their trailer (they were on the other trailer) so they would ship to me. When all was said and done, I ended up paying a total of $63.40 to get the $4.00 part I needed. Good news is, that part fixed the horn blowing in turns problem.

Charlie Ball has narrowed the coolant leak on his '37 down to an intake or a head gasket, parts are on hand and Charlie is waiting for a chance to fix his car.

Moving the coolant temperature sensor didn't solve the hot start problems on Gary Price's Plymouth. His next step will be to improve the chassis ground. Gary also has a 260 engine for Kathy's Mustang. So much fun, so little time!

David Baker, along with David and Gary’s nephew Grady Peters, has been working on a ’72 C10 pickup. It is pretty original. David buffed the paint and Nephew Grady has been tweaking mechanicals and cosmetics, trying to get it ready for Run to the Sun at Myrtle Beach. David has his ’70 VW Bug convertible looking lean and mean. Still needs some tweaks, but, looks good.
