Member Machines and Gossip

(Thanks to Dick for the input)

Randy Bledsoe and Betsy, Stan Bledsoe and Jenny, Daniel Gibson and granddaughter, Dick Cartwright and Susie, participated in the Blountville Christmas parade. This is really a nice little parade and a good time was had by all. Be sure and ask Daniel his criteria in choosing the children he threw candy to.

Rayford Dingus just bought a '52 Chevrolet 3 window pickup, fresh out of 40 + years storage. It is really old school with a 283 and the original "3 on the tree" transmission. Rayford has freshened it up and says it runs and drives great, he also said it is for sale.

Tim Hammond recently took delivery of a '32 Ford sedan he bought from a Canadian seller. It is a very nice car with a small block Chevy and a 4-speed transmission, getting the car here from Canada was apparently an ordeal.

Bill Pettis is the proud owner of a flathead powered '40 Ford Coupe that he found on the internet, it appears to be a straight, solid car. Rumor has it that Bill, who already had a '32 sedan had been looking at Tim's '40 coupe and Tim, who already had a '40 coupe was interested in Bill's sedan, and as any true street rodder knows, they reached the ultimate compromise, now they both have a '32 sedan and a '40 coupe.

Mark Warner is making good progress repairing the "tin termite" damage on his '41 Chevy coupe. Mark found a pair of rear fenders in Charlotte, one NOS and one really solid original.

When Bruce Roberts took his '57 Chrysler for a Christmas drive the Gearstar 200 R 4 broke. At last report Bruce had the transmission out and was taking it to a local shop for diagnosis.

When Charlie Ball decided to take his '37 Ford for a Christmas drive it wouldn't start. A coil from an engine Norman Davis had given Charlie, got it started, but Charlie says it is now running rough.

Sid Vicars hopes to have "Junior", Kathy's ‘63 Chevy II running soon.

My (Dick's) '61 Chevy developed a habit of blowing its horn when turning with the signal on (a bad thing if you happen to be following a bunch of Hell's Angels). After an unsuccessful attempt to fix it, I checked the original '61 Chevrolet shop manual and found a cure.
