Club Christmas Party
The club Christmas party will be Friday
December 11 from 5:30 until 8 in the Food City Press Room at 300 Clinchfield Street, Kingsport.

Buckshot Elliot has sold his beautiful '30
A Model sedan to fellow club member Freddy Collins.
Club members Bruce Roberts, Perry
Stapleton, Buckshot Elliot, and Freddy Collins went to the Turkey Run in
Daytona. Bruce said the car corral was full, the flea market was OK and there
were several new parts vendors. Most of the cars in the car corral were newer
stuff, goods in the flea market were well picked over, and the weather was/is
beautiful.
Bill Pettis is in the midst of yet another
project. Bill decided if he is to ever drive this '40 Ford pickup in this life
he needed outside help. Bill enlisted the help of the Barillo
Brothers in Knoxville, he figures if their work is
good enough for Bobby Alloway it is good enough for
him. They have made a lot of progress in a little time. The pictures Bill sent
show beautiful workmanship.
The pickup features a Pete and Jake's
frame, a 330 Desoto Hemi engine, a turbo 350 transmission, Bronco 9"
differential, Chassis Engineering leaf springs, dropped front axle and a 525
steering box.
Bill will be plumbing fuel and brake
lines, as well as installing brakes, glass and the wiring harness.
He is currently looking for a good paint
and body man that needs some work.
Doug Phillips reports he is staying as
busy as he wants to building SB1 Chevrolet engines, and
like the rest of us is staying close to home during the pandemic
I (Dick) found a new home for my
Volkswagen beetle, a 43 year young man that loves cars.
With the help of Charlie Ball and Sid
Vicars I spent an afternoon looking for a parasite electric load on the '77
Nova (which just happens to be for sale). After pulling all fuses and
disconnecting the alternator there was still a 300 milliamp drain. Any and all
ideas are welcome.
During this time of separation I will
appreciate any and all news of member's projects so they can be shared in the
newsletter. Damn, I miss you guys!
December Meeting
I am not sure what plans are for the
December meeting. The consence of the October
gathering to have the November meeting at Golden Corral but I have not heard if
a December meeting is planed or not.
